Why Play PS4 When You Can Play Atari?
Yes, you read that right. Atari is back with new hardware. The IndieGoGo campaign is now live and has been fully funded as of a couple hours after going live. There have been many questions surrounding the Atari VCS, and we can now finally put those to rest.
Let’s not beat around the bush. Here are the specs of the console:

This console doesn’t have incredible specs, but it’s enough to play a lot of games. Surprisingly, it is powerful enough to play Grand Theft Auto 5. Though, not beautifully, it can still run with low settings. It has Cloud Storage so it might work like the PS4 in that area. If you are unfamiliar with how the PS4 cloud system works, you can upload and download any save files of games. It comes in handy when installing a new hard drive in your system or you got a new system. The VCS doesn’t have a disc drive so everything will be purchased from an online storefront.
The system looks absolutely beautiful with its black casing and that wonderful wood grain on the front panel. It is a very nice nod to the roots of Atari consoles. There are some accessories that you can use with the VCS. It has a traditional, modern controller as well as a throwback joystick. Below, you can see what everything will look like:
I personally cannot wait to see what Atari can do with this little machine and what kind of games will be released for the system.
